Exclamation HELP! How do I disassemble the sideview mirror for painting URGENT

I cannot figure out how to dissassemble the FC sideview mirrors. I need to remove the glass for painting. The car will be shot thursday, and at Sevenstock Saturday. I have tried removing the three screws on the mounting surface, but that seemed to do nothing. I tried removing the two screws you can access by tilting the mirror all the way in, and that did nothing. I need help, please post if you have removed the mirror from the enclosure, or call me at 707-696-2705 Thanks, Carl Byck

Why do you need to remove the glass? when I shot mine (painted them the same black as the rest of my car), I just masked the hell out of them.. . Is there any good reason to remove the glass?

Ironically the only way to remove the glass is to break it. There is another screw or 2 behind the glass that you cannot get at. You can do what I did, which is destroy the guts to save and paint the housing. Then buy a used mirror assembly, destroy the housing to save the glass and motor. Then screw/epoxy the new guts into the newly painted housing.

Or just mask the sucker.
