HELP Get my car to turn over!
#27
Ok so now both my coils are firing. And im positive im missing the whole solenoid resistor package....DAMN'T! I have the plug on the harness for it and always wondered what it was for...now i know. I see in the attached jpg that you have a red box around a piece but im thinking i need the other piece? I'd like to clarify which one i need before posting a WTB ad. Once i have this stupid piece i should be good to get her running, right? Hailer's i need you again on this one!!!!

Alright, found a site...$26 bucks shipped. Not to bad at all. Should have it by this weekend.
After this is plugged in, it should run, right? Since everything else is working fine i assume this must be the last piece i need.
HAILERS, i owe you a cookie.

Well turns out my step dad has a spare solenoid resistor pack! I plugged her in, went to crank her and she started right up. Motor only sat for roughly a month and it didnt take long at all to start. Now im out $26 bucks for no reason but i couldn't care less. HAILER'S you are my hero on this forum. Couldn't have done it without you. Maybe this can be achieve material to help others in the future? All in all im very happy to have car running and if im lucky i can test drive her tomorrow.

Car starts up fine now, idles around 800rpm but its a tad bouncy est. 100rpm bounce. My oil pressure is good but my temperature gauge isnt working. Isn't the sensor for the temp located on the back side of the water pump? If so i have it plugged in but still not working. I'd like to get my temp gauge working before i give her a test drive. Also i dont know if my coolant is flowing like its suppose to.(dont have my heater core hooked up to help get rid of bubbles). So mainly i want to know:
How do i know if the coolant is flowing properly through the engine?
How do i help get rid of the air in the coolant system if my heater core isn't hooked up?
How do i get my temp gauge to work if the sensor is plugged in? and was working fine on the other rx7.
How to make it idle steady and smooooth?
Also have one hose that isn't plugged to anything located around the fuel line and return line. Will have a pic of this is a second to show you what i mean.
Also i have done a bit of searching but nothing crazy. In the mean time i will search while i wait on some answers. Thanks - Nick

Update boys and girls. I now understand the temp sensor is on the drivers side engine block. Its intact and was working fine when in my last rx7. If the sensor and harness is good what could it be? I just took her for its first ride every tonight! I have owned this rx7 for 3 and a half years with a blown T2 motor and i finally swapped in a sweet running n/a engine. I been working hard on this car and have just done a full blown tune up plus braided lines and a new brake set. As for the questions i asked before i really just need to know how to get my temp gauge to work or i may just buy an aftermarket one and also what that hoes goes to that i have pictured. Thanks a bunch for any help and will have pics of my car sometime soon so i hope. - Nick

Well i got a brand new water temp gauge with sensor for my job for free! I need to know what the normal operating water temp is supposed to be in degrees Fahrenheit?
And also where does that hose go?!!!!!!!

180*F when fully warmed up. That's for a stock thermostat. If it never gets over say 165*, then it's probably not a stock thermostat. Everything depends on what the thermostat is rated at. It should have a number stamped on it.......in most cases, but not all cases.
Hose.....got me. Maybe part of the purge system. Too close to see what's what.
