Help! Car Starts And Then Dies Right Away *with Video*
so i went to fix my broken water thermosensor today, basically to get at the wires i had to take the whole intake off (to the point where you can get at all the injectors.) i hooked everything back up after i was done, cannot see ANYthing that i missed, and now the car starts, and then dies right away. does not make a difference if my foot is on the gas or not. is not my alarm- i put it in valet mode. any other ideas?
heres the video- http://youtube.com/watch?v=VfefXKO0aVQ
edit- should also add that i have triple checked all vacuum hoses... but still let me know about any ones you think i might have missed!

and yeah, from what i've read, it looks like it is gonna be an afm issue, or i have vacuum escaping somewhere after the afm... i'll have to look at it tomorrow, it's pitch black out right now. looks like i'm drivin the sunfire to work tho

Take a pic of the engine bay for us. Preferably in higher resolution and focusing more on the AFM area, it was an s4 though. One of my friends had a similar problem and it turned out the AFM was upside down. Also maybe its a huge vacuum leak. Possibly one of your intake manifold gaskets. That would definetly cause this to happen. Also check for cracks in your TID.

ok, so i ran outside with a flashlight cuz this is buggin me so much.... afm is connected fine, makes sense since i didn't touch it. intake pipe looks and feels tight and snug. intake is solidly secured to the motor..... i'm so lost. What is the TID?

intake to tb is all good. if i try and start it 5 times in a row, it makes no difference. holding down on the accel. just makes it harder to start, and pressing the accel after it starts makes no difference. i also just pulled the afm, and checked it with an ohmeter... everything is well within specs :S

i have checked all vacuum lines so many times now it's not even funny. i pulled code and the only one i have is 9 (water thermosensor- which i was fixing in the first place...)
could it be that i wired up the thermosensor backwards? and would this damage anything? i tried running the car with it unplugged, no dice... it ran before with it unplugged...

i am very happy to report that we have found the problem. a long, thin piece of metal got in between the uhhh lower intake manifold i guess you would call it, and the motor. so obviously more air was gettin in there. so we tore down the whole top part of the engine again, found that, put it back together, and SHE RUNS!!! just took her for a nice long drive, it's all good. check engine light is gone too so the thermosensor is fixed
