Help! Car posessed by 'Satan'
Well I got the engine to work out and all that, now when I remove the key from the ignition the car remains on and running. If I pull back on the pedel it will die out so i'm not sure if I have a nasty eletric gremlin playing with my sytem or if I have an overtight throttle cable. Any ideas on how this could have gone down? Oh and the rest of the eletrical system remains in operation as well.

Your car staying on doesn't have anything to do with your throttle cable.
My guess, faulty ignition switch.

Next time you turn the car off and remove the key, and the engine keeps running, go to the alternator and remove the small two wire plug and see if that has an effect.

yes, if you can shut off the key and remove it from the ignition and the car continues running....theres something wrong with the ignition switch.
However I fail to see how pulling the gas pedal backwards would stall the car out if the ignition is faulty, I'd inspect it for sure.
