Help
my gxl has a strange problem where it hits 6 thousand, it dies out on me when im pushin it. Strange thing to me is that it only happens in 4th. I shift at 7rpm everytime and then when 4th gear is in, i hit 6 and then My "check engine" light blips on and the car slows down drastically. Is that supposed to happen?

If the check engine light comes on, the ECU will have generated an error code. Find out what it is.

Wow 6k rpm huh. Do you drive like that all the time?
Sounds like maybe a misfire with the check engine light blinking and all. Or maybe hitting some kind of fuel cut up there.
Try to go easy on her there rotary racer cuz you might be close to poping those seals!

Without knowing the code; my best guess - the AFM is about worn out.
Or the long range TPS has a bad spot.
To read out the code, go here> http://www.1300cc.com/howto/how2/codes.html
