Help - Bouncy Idle and Power Bursts

Just recently I've been having some really bouncy idles between 500 and 1500 RPM's. It used to be a lot worse and sometimes jump below 500 and stall. That was fixed by changing my spark-plugs. Anyone know what could be the matter?

With my acceleration: It starts out very slow sometimes, and it will get some sudden bursts of power and be back to normal, but its still below normal over-all. Again, this was worse before the spark-plug change, but is still a problem. Anyone know how to get this fixed? I am guessing the two things are related. Thank you.

this is not good for your engine to let it bounce around in idle, an for the engine to shake around like that. the most common reason for this is a vaccum leak.

a vaccum leak is about 90% of why a rotary wont idle. unless you engine is gone, but i dont think it is. do this take off your intake manifold an replace gaskets an check that there isnt any open nipples, then check ALL you vaccum hoses. make sure everything is good.
you should recheck everything at least 5 times to make sure you didnt miss anything. i made that mistake

Thanks. I will have to check everything then. Today my idle bounced off to a stall. It was so embarrassing around all the rice cars, they thought I couldn't drive stick. Also when the engine runs like it does, about every 5 seconds it gets a sudden jolt.

idle

I have the same problem. It helped me to to replace my plugs but I was also told that my BAC valve could be messed up and also I think my 5th and 6th ports might be sticking, but don't have a clue how to fix it.

what the other are saying !

adjust TPS, set the idle, check for vacuum leaks, etc
hmm, sounds like a good tune-up follow-up after having changed the plugs.

Good luck,
