Question Help! 6 port and VDI not working

Hi, I was hoping someone knows what's wrong with my car. I have a 1991 normally aspirated coupe with a manual transmission. The 6 port actuators and the VDI actuator aren't activating at all. I've done a lot of trouble shooting and I've narrowed the problem down to the signal going to the air control solenoids. When 12v is supplied to them and the car is running, the ports open and the VDI works (this happens at about 1500 rpm, so it's not a good solution). Other than that everything works just fine. I don't know if it matters but I've put on a full Racing Beat exhaust and I've plugged the split air pipe. I was hoping someone kows why it's not working and knows how I can fix it. Thanks.

is the air pump still on the car, and how did you plug the split air pipe?

The air pump is on the car and it works just fine. The actuators function and the ports open when the control solenoid is supplied with 12v and the car is running above about 1500rpm. I plugged the split air pipe with a suspention bolt (smooth shaft) held in place with a hose clamp where the metal pipe plugs in to the rubber hose (it has a good seal), the actual metal pipe is removed. The problem is that the control solenoid isn't being told to open the valve to allow the ports to open. I don't know if it could maybe be a faulty sensor, or maybe the engine computer is not working properly (other than this it appears to function flawlessly)

Thanks

Question

Oh well, I wasn't very hopeful on finding an answer since this is not the standard 6 port problem. I'll just have to get some RPM switches to activate the ports and VDI. This could be good in a way though, it'll mean that I can tune it for maximum power output. Thanks
