this has been on my mind a lot. i was talking it over with my brother and come to think about it, we were having the same problems on his fc. ended up being a clogged radiator. try checking the water seals by removing the radiator cap and topping it off and cranking the engine over. if not alot of bubles then look into a used radiator. should be pretty cheap. my brother had parked his fc for about 3 months before we realized what the problem was. it's worth a try.

good luck

Get the coolant system flushed, my mate had a car that overheated, previous owner had put a ridiculous amount of stop leak in and it was clogging up the system. Could be a previous owners way of attempting to fix a coolant seal.

Not saying it's the problem, but I put a new waterpump on my car when I first rebuilt it, and then it started overheating like yours. It ended up being the impeller on the waterpump had come loose from the shaft. There was no way to tell until I decided that my gasket was sucking water and the impeller fell off when I took it off the engine.
