Heater problems

Everything electrical checks out, everything mechanical seems okay... I just cant figure out why the heated coolant isn't going through my heater core, has anyone ever had any experience with this and knows of a way to fix it?

Both lines stay cool even after 30 mins of driving.. is it possible something is lodged somewhere?

I'd figure the water control valve to be the most likely culprit.

Disconnect the heater water lines (inlet at the rear DS of the engine, outlet at the lower radiator bung) and with the heater temp control on the Logicon set to full HOT, you should be able to stream water through the loop.
If no water passes, either the control valve is not working or the core itself is totally plugged up.

At that point it's dash removal time.

Another idea is checking the control valve through the access hatch under the driverside dash. Take off the plastic piece and move the heater control on the logicon around and see if it's moving. This wont tell you if the core is clogged though. You would think the hose would still get hot though if it was clogged.

Thanks for the replies, i got the thing working. Turns out the hinge / cover thing on the heater unit was closed.. Is this supposed to be activated by a motor?

When i pushed it open by hand BAM heat.

So happy that its working now

edit: Also one of the hoses had some debris in it, not much i took a shop vac and sucked it all out.
