heat shield?

hey i was pulling apart my stock manifold, and couldnt get the freakin heat shield off. stupid old thing ended up craking and breaking. my question is with rb headers am i going to need that stupid thing at all? or if i need it would using heat wrap on the headers work? thanks alot

you can leave them bare

or

you can wrap them


Either way works - If it were mine, I'd wrap.....I ALWAYS wrap up my pipe before putting it in my girl err car, yeah car. :

even just a piece of sheet metal will do, kinda like the stock shield. having something there will help keep engine bay temps down.

wraps. juss to be safe so u wont burn the wires . i also had this problem untill i pulled out my engine. the heat wraps juss fell on the ground D

Use exhaust wrap. A trick to wrapping it is to get the wrap wet before you apply it, it makes it more flexible. Also, since most use fiberglass wear some gloves, or you will be really ******* itchy.

Use clamps when needed. Header wrap definitely helps keep the heat inside the pipe. I used it, and I feel like my underhood temps were at least 10 degrees colder. I can touch the header after a 30 mile drive hom from work, and not burn myself.
