Hear a faint high-pitched beep
dunno what it is.......never heard it before the other day when i broke the little blue wire from the seat belt off (no one could tell me what it is, drivers side seat belt was the only one with it), also my cd player no longer works......any idea what the beep is?

small light blue wire, had a spade connector on the drivers side seatbelt didnt even see it, accidentally broke off, the remainder of it is down in the chassis where i cant get to it. however the car still does that annoying *** beep if you dont have your seat belt on - btw how do i fix that?

Mine does this same thing. Only notice it when you really listen for it, but when you know its there you are always listening for it. I too would loooove to know what the hell this is and how to fix it.

It could be the power steering computer.
The power steering computer has it's own error code system which will emit gentle beeps (versus louder the redline, LOW COOLANT, LOW OIL buzzer) when it encounters a problem with the power steering system.
1-beep, pause, repeat - in case abnormality of speed sensor signal:
In case broken wires or short circuits occur to sensors or harnesses, the buzzer sounds 60-seconds after the engine speed signal of 2200 rpm continues for 18-seconds.
2-beeps, pause, repeat - in case abnormality of engine speed signal:
The buzzer sounds when the vehicle speed signal is input and no engine speed signal is input (short circuit, broken wire, etc.)
3-beeps, pause, repeat - in case abnormality of stepping motor signal:
The buzzer sounds when there are broken wires or short circuits in coils or harnesses.
4-beeps, pause, repeat - in case abnormality of the power steering microcomputer:
The buzzer sounds when there are circuit troubles other than with the micro computer.
5-beeps, pause, repeat - in case abnormality of steering sensor signal:
The beeper sounds 60-seconds after broken wire or short circuit occurs to sensors or harnesses when the vehicle speed is above 40Km/h (25 mph).
Continuous beep - in case abnormality of the power steering microcomputer:
The beeper sounds if the microcomputer becomes abnormal and cannot control the system.

have you stuck your head under the dash and located what box the beep or buzz is coming from.
It will be either the power steering computer, the CPU, the gauges.
Now you didn't say if it was stock without the power steering or if it was removed. So if it was stock without power steering, it pretty much rules it down to coming from the gauges or the CPU in the drivers kick panel.
If it is the gauges, then look at low coolant or low oil.
If it is the CPU, then look at bad light switch, bad key switch, bad seat belt switch, or bad CPU.
If you had power steering, and pulled it... its probably the power steering computer reporting that the pump is not working or no signal from the verious parts.
