Headlight vent...

I don't get them, and I'm usually pretty open to even "questionable" mods. Here recently I've seen about nine hundred threads about them. Someone tell me what they're supposed to do...why are they so popular all of a sudden?

(come on, someone tell me it's to get "cooler air" to the intake...)...

ambient air comes in vs. hotter air from around the rad. Its nice with a cone filter.

Headlight scoops do not work unless extensive cutting and ducting along with a sealed box are used. Sorry to burst the ricer boy bubble but it is true. You have to do more work than it is worth for the gain from the small hole. A true CAI like the ones made by people here and the one that I designed are a much better option for cool air.
