Have to hold gas on cold start?

When starting my turbo 2 i have to hold my foot on the gas to keep the car on untill it gets warm then its fine. Does any bodi eles have to do this or any bodi no where to look towards fixing this?

was the throttle body modified?

it sounds like someone disabled the cold start system

Does the car rev to 3000 rpm after it first starts?

It sounds like you're missing some or all of the thermowax. You can see pictures of it on this page:

It sits behind the throttle body.

The Cold Start Assist is just for cranking; it spits a little coolant into both chambers to lubricate them so that the rotors spin more easily in colder temps. The consensus is that after 2 decades this system probably isn't working on most of the RX-7s out there.

Well i know my cold start not hooked up lotz of ppl told me that i didnt need it so i never bothered fixing it. The throttle body was not modded either, I get in crank the car and it starts first time every time jumps up to 2500 i guess then bogs out unless i give it gas. It keep doing this untill warm

referring to the thermowax, you have to list if anything else was modified such as the coolant lines to and from the throttle body.

not hooking everything up as it originally was = modified by the way.
