Hatch cover.
What'd yall have to say for hatch covers? I know there was a small collection of custom made ones by Mazda... anyone want to sell theirs? I doubt I'll get one. So I'll have to make one. What do you guys suggest?

It's this thing... sorta like light pressboard (we'll say cardboard) that has a bit of carpeting on top, and it hangs from the glass hatch right at the level of the car body, so it seems as if the trunk is protected by an actual trunk. Which it isn't.

I have an 87 GXL with a hatch cover. Keeps stuff hidden from prying eyes. Have to take it out to put anything sizeable in the car. BUT, it does make the car quieter. I think it deadens some of the road noise coming from the back. Sags a little in the middle, tho. Not a great design.

Yea my 1990 came with one and it is still in good shape. It hides a pair of speakers quite nicely actually. Pluss it keeps anything you have int there from rolling around your car. It has hooks and snaps that keep stuff from rolling out from underneath it. Ill oost some pics for anyone still curious about what they look like. And you are right about the dealer price they are ridiculous!

I have one of the vinyl ones. The guy that sold it to me never sent me the clps that they are supposed to attach to in the back, so I jsuat use my cargo straps.
here is a pic (the site is under cosnt.)

I would prefer the carboard one, but for $35 dollars, I couldnt pass it.

Yeah, if you could take some pictures of the cardboard version, that would be great. Take as many as you can, because I'm going to try to make one. It's interesting to see how the vinyl one looks.

I was fortunate enough to not only swap the interior in BLACK but to have a trunk cover in mint condition as well (I know bastard Is what you are thinking)! My previous Interior was Blue. Best upgrade by far.
With the rear window as big as It Is on our FC's, the trunk cover does a fine job keeping contents conceled!

Just get some really dark tint!!! Then now one will see anything but the front seats. What I'm planning on doing is getting that mirror like tint. Not to sure how it would look.

cause it looks nasty in most cars... and unless it's factory, it'll start to bubble and peel until it looks as nasty as those big conversion vans from the 80's with the cheap mirror tint... (EWWWW)
