Yea sorry our internet at work today has been real shady.

1. The car will be used for Days at the Track. I used to run my 240sx with a harness bar that ran behind the rear seats for the harnesses and camera mount.

2. I have seats and 5-pt harnesses but I am not going to attach them shoddily to the floor or use any other rigged up solution. Safety is always a concern, but a cage or even a roll bar is unnecessary for what this car will be doing. I just want a proper solution for attaching my harnesses.

I'll look at that Scroth system although I already have some nice harnesses. Maybe I will end up having to weld in a roll bar, but that just seems a little overkill for my needs.

You don't have to weld in a bar, there's bolt in ones available from Autopower or Kirk Racing, available with an intergral harness bar.

While track days are safer than racing I've seen a couple roll overs and several other crashes in 4 weekends at driving schools. It's non-intrusive to the driver unless you like to sit really far back and really reclined. I'm 6'3" and it doesn't bother me at all. It only slightly hurts space in the back and isn't hard to install.

Just think to yourself, what is my life worth? You can't really overspend on safety gear, it could be a matter of life and death. I think its worth it.

Yea I'm not a little kid going to fisher price my first track event. I've been around racing and have run instructional track days for years. I know safety is important and would gladly spend money on that over performance. I have just used a harness bar in the past with no problems and didn't know if they made a similar piece for the FC since I am new to this community.

Is the street-sport rollbar from autopower (http://www.autopowerindustries.com/rollbars.asp) is a nice piece? I have no experience with bolt-in rollbars/cages, only the weld in units. I'll do some more research on those if that's the route I decide to take.

Yea, my point's that while it may not have been a problem yet, bad things can happen and you never know.

I use the race roll bar shown there and it's well built. A weld in bar would be a little better strength wise, but on a street car that means a lot of dissasembly to avoid burning the interior.

Do you run the race roll bar with the bolt in cross and harness bar or the are they welded in?

They're welded in. The rear supports are removable and bolt on with a slip joint, but everything else on mine is welded.
