I used to work at a Nissan dealer in 1990-1991and would demo people in those things. Not to be underestimated, they are VERY tossable and the input to the driver is excellent making them easy to drive at limit.
First time I took one out on some backroads in Washington state I was pretty impressed.
The SE is the beefed up suspension model with some other goodies like leather-wrapped steering wheel/shifter, rear spoiler...

But if this question were asked on a 240SX forum, the Nissan would win.

I agree - I almost ended up with one.&nbsp The Nissan turns very well - it's very close to what the FC DTSS does...&nbsp I would call it almost a dead heat.&nbsp I believe the 240SX posted a 0.89G or 0.90G skidpad...

My best friend ( who got me into cars) drives a 90 240... Sweet cars.... Of it was only a Rotary...

Handling wise? Man tough one... both stock? I'd say both EVEN! I cannot tell much of a diff between ours, cept he has good tires and I don't.... well both of our suspensions are modified a bit too so that doesn't count..

Yea I had a 90 240 also. Did the 90 year model come in Hicas? I think that was 92 and up?? Well the 240 does handle really well pulling .88-.89g's stock(non hicas equipped) . But the Hicas system does somewhat limit the max cornering ability on the 240 for an expert driver. Driving both cars, the 240 I believe was a bit longer and the main suspension weakness on the fastback is body rigidity. The body isnt as tight as my FC but the feedback from the suspension in the 240 was amazing and you could work wonders with it. With a bit of suspension work the 240 really turns into a beast through the turns. But yea it seems really really even, coming down to mostly driver skill.

I know they had Hicas in 1991 because my best friend drives a 1991 240 SE w/ Hicas.

I think it boils down to tires and driving skill. One thing I liked about driving the 240SE though was the way the suspension just swallowed dips in pavement - you could feel each corner of the car doing it's thing without jostling the body. Yaw transistions are well-balanced..it's hard to describe, it's just done right.
Nissan makes terrific suspensions stock. This car is a great example..
