Haltuner and O2 sensor

Haltuner and O2 sensor
A Haltec Haltuner came with the Turbo 2 I bought. For anyone who's not familier with it its an air/fuel ratio gauge. But the Haltuner has its own o2 sensor with 4 wires coming out, and its not hooked up. Now this means my car is running with no O2 sensor. Is this OK? If not can I use the Haltuners O2 sensor as my normal sensor and splice into. Basicly is it OK for my car not to have an O2 sensor?

With no O2 sensor and the stock ECU, you'll be running rich since the ECU is getting a reading from the O2 sensor.
You could splice into the 4-wire, but I don't recall if the 4-wire is a 5V sensor or a 1V sensor. I believe rotaries use the 1V sensor with a stock ECU set-up.

I'll admit to knowing stuff-all about the Haltech O2 sensor (four wires?) but I assume that it hasn't been attached to the car's wiring harness. This just means the ECU can't go into closed-loop when cruising to maintain stoichiometric mixtures for economy. OK for the car (but not perfect), but harder on your wallet than it needs to be. I'm sure the Haltech sensor is designed to be used with both an ECU and an A/F meter, but I'll leave it to a Haltech expert to confirm.
