Ground Controls on KYB Struts.....
I am planning to buy some Ground Control Coil Conversion kit for my KYB AGX adjustable struts. I've tried searching other write-ups and previous installs but still can't find the right answer???
The the dilemma that i am running into is the Spring Perch on the shock body... to successfully install the Ground Control Conversion kit, you have to remove the spring perch and place the threaded sleeve over the perch ring (the ring that previously held the perch in place.) Most write-ups i've seen have the removable Perches. My KYB's are welded on to the shock body. I know there have been other installs where the perch is left on and the sleeve rests on top of it, unfortunately my perch is angled to lock the spring in place. What do i have to do to get by this?? Has anyone ran into this problem???
i am guessing my KYB's are an older set (I believe they're 3 years old) I've seen other adjustable sets that go up to 16 damper points, as of mine are only have four points. I bought the car with these set installed already.
any advice on this is greatly appreciated and thanks in advance....

My ground control threaded sleeve was angled on the bottom so that it rested properly in the angled perch. Are all of yours flat? I just put the rubber ring on, slid them down so they rested flat on the perch, put the locking ring on and away I went.

most of what i've seen the sleeve is flat???? I was under impression that all of the sleeves came flat straight from the company... So Ground Controls come modified to fit correctly on the Perch? do you have a photo of your install??? and where did you order to get the correct one?

I called them up and explained what I had and what I needed. They were EXTREMELY helpful, they even gave me all kinds of different hats/fittings/etc to adapt to the camber plates I had. But yeah, my sleeves were angled. I can go get a picture because I have to check some stuff anyway if you'd like. It'll be a little bit though (about an hour or so). If you want hit me up on AIM (SonikRaT)

dude this is the photo is all i needed for me to go ahead and make this order! only question bro, how much can you lower your ride height, because it's angled, the sleeve threads look a little shorter to lower the perch? i dont know, maybe i'm just trippin. haha

There's a bit of the threaded sleeve that you won't be able to use, but that's not a big deal since it'd just be resting on the base of the perch anyway. I think this is why they give you such short front springs to begin with. I have about 3" of adjustability if I recall.

Yes, that is correct, the GC front adjustable sleeve, has an angle cut at the bottom. Once the GC sleeve is inserted on to the KYB AGX strut, that angle cut will "lock" itself to the strut spring base. Its hard to explain, but the OP will see it right away.
The rears does not have the "angle cut", they are flat.

Yes, if you can get ahold of them, they are extremely helpful!
Concerning the camber plates, did you purchased yours from K2RD? My GC camber plates did not fit over the KYB AGX struts. The struts shaft OD was larger than the GC sperical bearing ID. I have a thread somewhere, with a few pics (I think)

GC techs sold me abushing, thaqt should've worked; unfortunately, that wasn't the case. I saw a pic of a pair of GC camber plates from K2RD, and it seems that the upper section (the one that bolts to the strut tower) was a GC piece, and the lower portion (the one that rests on the strut perch) was very similar to the TEIN camber plate lower section.
