Greddy drop-in air filter or cone filter ?

Is it more cost effective to just buy a performance drop-in filter compared to buying a cone? I found a drop-in for 35 dollars and most of the cone filters I've been looking at are around 75-100+. Keep in mind; I'm taking out my FTP lenses to let in more air for the stock system
Any input would be nice, I've searched the forum and I haven't found a thread that was about the cost effecincy of the drop-in vs cone.

I assume you're being ironic here.

Hahaha i hope so too!

To the OP just buy a stock replacement. The stock intakes aren't bad what so ever.

Yeah, I'm being ironic but the ftp lenses are going because they look horrible from years of water getting inside of them. It seems though, from the replies, that just getting a drop-in is fine.

Yeah for a stock-ish car, a drop-in is all you really need. However, if you do go with a cone filter, it must be properly enclosed (something like this: https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-specific-1986-1992-17/diy-cold-air-box-830116/ ), or else it will just suck hot air and do nothing for performance (perhaps even hinder it).

Not entirely true. I have done back to back temp tests with RotaryRocket88 with his enclosed setup vs. my open filter and the temp difference was like 7 degrees. Not a lot and there are many factors that can make up 7 degrees.
