Ok I was wondering if anyone knows how to clean my intake filter. It is very dark green and I want to clean it till I can get another one.

Thanks,

I think you just wash it with water, wait until it dries and put the K&N Recharger Kit on it before putting it back.

I would be careful with that. Some filters, like the HKS, are pre-oiled and cannot be cleaned, and will allow dirt into your engine if washed. I recommend contacting your GReddy dealer to ask what to do.

Yo,

I have that same filter. I cleaned it hella with the K & N cleaner, then used the ITG Dust Rentention Coating on it. You can find it here:

http://www.eurosportacc.com/load/?coolflo.htm

You might want to put "ITG Dust Rentention Coating" into Google and see if you can get it locally.

Here's a desc:

This fluid (supplied in 200ml aerosol cans) adds significantly to filtration efficiency with a negligible reduction in air flow capacity. ALL ITG FILTER SYSTEMS ARE DESIGNED TO INCORPORATE THE USE OF THIS OIL: FAILURE TO USE IT GREATLY REDUCES FILTER EFFECTIVENESS. ITG Dust Retention Fluid is water-soluble; so filter cleaning and maintenance requires only warm water and mild liquid detergent. After the filter is shaken off and air-dried (no high pressure air or hot air blowers, please) it can be lightly re-oiled and returned to service.

It worked great, made the foam filter all tacky. The outside of the filter is nice and dirty, the inside, nice and clean and blue. No dust on the inside of the MAF. No way was I just going to use the standard AIRinx coarse filter foam.

Hope that helps!
