is there anyway to tell if a rebuilt motor was ported in any manner? I bought the car off a guy who bought it rebuilt from the owner before him. so i am working with a third hand source. It was rebuilt with 3mm seals so there is a chance it was streetported while it was apart. seeing there are only 500 ish miles on it, i am not taking it apart. Maybe i can get my emissions test results and see how bad they are and compare to people with similiar mods and a street port, compare to people with similiar mods and no streetport and take an average overall?

Without taking the engine apart you wont really ever know "for sure." You might get an idea but that's about it.
One thing you can do is look inside the exhaust port and see if it looks ported. Turn the engine by hand until there is no apex seal in the way of the exhaust port and feel inside there, also reaching into the engine and onto the housing. See if it feels smoothed out or bigger than expected. Also, check the runners of the intake ports and see if those have been polished or cleaned up. If both of those are true, it's ported most likely, but if neither are I'm gonna guess it's not.

take off the lower manifold and dig in with your fingers. You will know its ported if you feel a different texure either really smooth or rough depending on the job they did. If the port is really big you can probably tell a difference in size if you had a stock side plate to compare it to.
