Got My RX7 Finally
Hey I finaly got my RX7 for $200. I don't have any pics because I don't have a digital camera. But as sone as I get my camera back, I will post some pics. But I already committed my first illegal crime I am triking the insurance company. They think it is NA but its TURBO baby. Getting a front clip soon to take place of NA powerplant. Only reason I got a front clip is I don't want to deal with the freaking engine harness being cut.

the VIN number will still come up as a N/A, so your not really tricking anyone. Also, if your only getting liability insurance, your rate never changes, no matter what kind of car you drive. I could drive a ferrari F40 and I would still pay $90 a month for insurance.

I have the B&G springs from speedmachineperformance.com, they supposedly lower the car 1.5" (which is the lowest I've seen for performance springs outside of coilovers). I have not installed them, but hopefully in a few weeks I'll post up some pics with 'em on.
I've also never heard of anyone else with these springs...?

why would they care if you get pulled over? Your insurance will increase because of driving points on your record, but the simple fact that your car is more likely to get pulled over doesnt give an insurance company any reason to worry.

Insurance co. are the most descriminatory/racist organizations. They can raise your premiums for being a black male or a certain age group. They have studies done on who gets into more accidents or who is more dangerous are a driver(minorities come up high on that one) and increase the rates. Gender descrimination/ageism/racism all are practiced by these people.

The only answer regarding this is "it depends." There's so many different factors to consider, not all insurance companies write their policies the same way, not all insurance companies interpret the facts of a given car the same way either.
For example: I ride with Farmer's insurance, and I've been told (after asking) by my agent that it wouldn't matter in the slightest what kind of car I drive, my rate is going to be static (could be a Pinto or a Ferrari). But I have liability insurance coverage only; if I had full coverage it would most definitely matter what I drive.
I was quoted $47X (470-something) monthly for full coverage on a 1989 TurboII RX-7 a few years ago. At the time, full coverage on a 2000 Impreza 2.5RS would've costed about $300/mo. Currently with a 1996 Probe GT with liability-only coverage, I pay about $65/mo., but that rate won't change from vehicle to vehicle. Only if my driving record changes.
So, it all really just depends. Shop around--one insurance company will be cheap for one and exorbitantly expensive for another. Multiple companies quoted me with different rates for different vehicles, even liability-only.

It isn't always true that all sports car drivers speed, but thats what the statistic says and so you pay more. I have only liability on both my 87 N/A and my 87 TII. The TII is almost $100 more per month than the NA.
