good news i think
A few days ago I did the unthinkable, i suggested converting my very own baby into a v-8 abortion. Combining the light weight chasis of the rx-7 with good old detroit muscle seemed like a good idea, when i thought my motor was blown. But today came the test, first i checked oil, coolant, and found no signs of corrosion or wear, both were clean as a whistle. Then i pulled both trailing plugs and egi fuses and got into the car with my fingers crossed. And to my amazement woosh woosh, the sound of choo-choo trains rang throughout the garage. Mouth open in awe i walked to the front of the car and replaced on of the trailing plugs and repeated the others steps, doing the same for both front and rear housings, and as before good as gold. So then I made my last final check, and got the compression tested. i forget exact numbers but the front rotor was running at what we figured to be about 94% of stock compression and the rear at around 96% compression.
Now comes my problem, everythign on the car is new all has been replaced and i mean EVERYTHING, with only a few exceptions. the injectors, fuel pump, and ignition system. Now back to my initial problem, the car runs aweful, last night i took it out again, and hit 135 with it on the turnpike, but it has NO power and is slower than death getting there. I have no OMP and instead run premix, initially i thought maybe my mixtue of half a quart to 16 gallons was off, but why would that cause my sudden drop in rpms when accelerating? When driving my primary stock tachometer in the dash will rise continuously, however slowly, BUT, my aftermarket tach acts strangely, it rises steadily and when i punch it and the car bogs down around 3500-6000 RPMS the tach dropsthe reading will drop then rise slowly then drop again before i shift ionto the next gear. This external tach by the way is hooked to the fron Ignitor(coil) too the allotted factory hook-up. Why would it do this? Is that part of my ignition messed up? Is my fuel pump going? or is it the ever possible secondary injectors plugging or malfunctioning??
need help guys if the my ROTARY dream is to continue....
thanks and regards,
Cole

Just a thought... when's the last time you changed the fuel filter? I heard running pre-mix can foul those up. Try dropping in a Mazda OEM filter.... it's worth a shot...
