Talking going to buy fc but a few quick questions...

Okay guys I am going to buy an fc for my daily driver. I am still looking for the perfect fd to drive around and have some almost exotic car fun but for now Ill just pick up a fc so I can run around town and do a little drifting =]
Heres my predicament. The car is a CHERRY 91 coupe. Non turbo no convert just plain jane beauty. Has ac, new paint, new clutch, new intake, new brakes. The interior is leather and it is perfect.
Now the car has 135000 miles on original motor. It has been meticuosly maintained but Im still worried. Im getting a good price on it and Im wondering what you guys would do. Would you buy it or would you pass due to the mileage.
Also Im not looking for the fastest car around. Im just in dire need of a daily driver so when I get the fd I wont be driving it all the time.
Please give me some insight becasue I know nothing of the fc and I dont want to put a new motor in right after I get it. Also are there any special things I should look out for?

And it has been compression tested and fully insopected and its perfect according to the shop.

$2600 he lost his job. You can check out all the info in the classifieds. He needs the money by next wed. I am really interested I just dont know if the fc will last a long time and if you think its a good idea.
Im open to all comments guys and gals since you are the fc experts. i only know fds.

Sounds like a pretty good deal to me. A 91 coupe in good condition runs around $3000 on the Kelly Blue Book site depending on the condition. www.kbb.com

I wouldn't sweat the engine to much. NA's that have been taken care of easily see 150,000 miles on the original engine.

Do you know how to pull the engine error codes out of the ECU? I'd check that and try to find things wrong with the car so you could haggle the price. Then enjoy your new daily driver.

hey thanks guys......he doesnt have any ecu error codes though... i think the car is pretty cherry. the only thing wrong is the drivders automatic seatbelt is busted but i can get that done at mazda under the factory recall. (did my homework)
anything else i should look for?
and one thing i heard kind of scared me...15000 out of the motor? this thing has 135000. its probably going to blow on me pretty soon huh?
and i have been fighting him on price for a while...he srted at 2600 then jumped to 4000 becasue he realized his car was worth more. now hes down to the wire and needs to sell it by wed and will let it go for 2600. (im still working on him though)

keep em comming guys!

no the motor isn't going to blow at 150,000 thousand miles. That's a GENERALIZATION. It all depends on the owner and how well they take care of it. If the car is "Cherry", don't sweat it. Deal with the blown motor when it happens...

It all depends on how the car was run, I have 190,000 on mine all original. It still screams to 9000

A compression test is a good indicator.

It has been compression tested and checked out like it was brand new. Okay thanks. Im a little eased now about the mileage. How much would you guys buy this car for? 2600 seems like a killer price but Ive seen them for sale for way less. Any comments on price guys?

Also does anyone have an idea of other "specific to the rx7" things I should look out for.

If the compression test was perfect, the car has been well maintained and has all that new stuff...yes, it's a great deal. $2600 is fair enough, so even if you can't talk the guy down, don't feel that you're getting ripped off...you aren't.

Seriously man, go for it. I sure as hell would if I had the money.
