GM 105-140 amp alternator in a FC

Has anyone done a '92 Buick Lesabre 105 or 140 alternator swap in a FC. I saw this thread for FB. I was wondering if it would work for a FC.

https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...lternator+swap

I know I can do the FD alternator swap, but the FD alternator is expensive.

im sure you could find a way to stick one on there.

personaly, i would get one from a junk buick and see if you can get it to fit. that definitly seems like a better alternative to doing the fd thing. and the buick alternator is more abundant and probably cheeper, especialy if you get a good reman or used one.

if you get to one befor i do you should do a write up, ive got a few gm alts layin around i might try it myself.

good luck

Has anyone done this swap themselves on a FC?

What's so expensive?
I just picked up an FD alternator off of eBay for $50...

well i think he's hoping it'd be easier to wire up than having to retrofit the fd alt to the fc style?

The FD alt wiring is direct plug-n-play for the S5.
I don't think the rewire for the S4's is very difficult but in either case, the pulleys will need modification to fit (the FD alt has a slightly larger shaft).

oooooh, i thought the s4 rewire was a bit more work. in that case, i may have to go ahead and get that fd alt i saw f/s for $50

i hate to hijack, but i got a double-belt alt pulley, so would that need the same work done?

If the pulley was meant for S4/S5 application, yes.
