Question Getting my 90 Vert Rebuilt - What can I expect?

I bought a 90 vert with 103K for $3900.
Kept dying on me, bad compression.
Local RX-7 shop is rebuilding for $2100.
He is going to streetport it (i really don't know the terminology)
What can I expect for horsepower?
The guy at the shop said about 20% more hp.
Car is in almost perfect cosmetic shape.
What should I do next to make it faster?
How does all this sound? Reasonable?

Um, you can expect it to run...
You can expect it to be louder...
You can expect it to use more gas...
What you should do next is exhaust and intake mods.
Just my .02.
