![Question](https://www.rx7club.com/images/icons/icon5.gif)
Ok i have an 88 conv. and i am running a stat thermostat and oem everything, new engine about 1 year old with 40k miles. I am experiencing the car stalling on me when my temps get around 1/2 on the temp gauge. What could be causing this, how bad is the stat thermostat for it compared to the oem? the temp here is about 90+ and when it gets cool out it will run fine its only causing it during the day and as long as i don't have to stop much it seems fine untill i get in traffic, or red light to red light. I have read the Stant Vs Mazda Thermostat and was wondering if that could be the cause but i still question because the car should atleast still run at the 1/2 temp area. Please anyone with suggestions any will be appreciated. More info if needed

ok i think it might be my coils going out or my engine is about to die, either way i need to make it clear that the car wants to stop at under the 1/2 area on the temp gauge. i have never seen anything like this and i went ahead and bought a new stant and have not put it in yet becuase i read Stant Vs Mazda Thermostat in the archives i have not ran across anybody saying anything about their rotaries quiting at under the 1/2 mark on the temp gauge. or my ecu causing it i have had to replace it twice already but this one is only about 6 months old, the ngk wires are about 8 months old and the ngk spark plugs are about 2 months old. any thoughts would count. running out of ideas.
