gauge lights

what does it mean if all your lights come on on the the idiot display b4 you start your car?

actually when all the lights come on it means your alternator is not turning

And the altenator will not be turning until your engine is, of course


Like Icemark said, that should indicate that your car is working properly. It's basically a self test diagnostic that your computer will preform, and it functions to indicate to you that all the lightbulbs themselves are in-tact and not burnt out.

I hope this clears things up a bit.

if it works sporadically, there is probably a cold solder joint in the warning light cluster.

when the car is on acc. ? or "on" ?
either way... all of mine don't come on.. only my e-brake light because its obviously engauged.
