Gas Tank plastic vent - What's the part number and where do i get one?
While I was pulling down my gas tank to fix a leak in the rotten fuel lines, I accidentally broke the plastic connector on the top of it that connects to the charcoal canister.
This plastic cap is located right around the middle of the fuel tank, it's a yellow plastic. It's held in place with a metal retaining ring and 4 Phillips head screws. There's "8H01" stamped on it (in ink) if you remove the ring.
Can anyone help me with a part # or something to get rolling? I logged into Mazdaspeedmotorsports.com and pulled the parts lists, but I can't find it in there. The local dealership guy didn't have access to anything other than that, either, so he wasn't much help. I can epoxy this if I have to, but I'd prefer to replace it (but not the whole tank!)..
Thanks!

I think i have used probably 3 tubes of the cream colored plastic epoxy from the auto parts stor since I bought the car in January. The stuff holds REALLY well. I temporarily patched a hole in my rad with it and it held for 3 weeks until I got a replacement.
Knowing Mazda, the plastic cover probably costs just as much as a new tank, so I highly recommend the epoxy if that is the case. Get ahold of some steel mesh (or a collander) and you'd be set to go.
**This has worked for me several times, mostly interior. I have never repaired a gas tank with epoxy, so if your car explodes, I hold no responsibility.

That's kinda the idea I was going for if I can't get a replacement.
A friend at work just pointed out that I can probably break the plastic back a bit and tap a metal fitting into the top. I may go that route, depending on how confident I am in the epoxy...
