Gas Tank crud

I'm new on here, so take it easy on me, please!

I have a 90 GXL that needed a fuel pump, so I put one in. While it was out, I noticed the tank had lots of crud in it. I dropped the tank today and called some places to try to find out what to do. Only one radiator shop around here apparently boils it out then treats it with something called Red-something. They want about $80-90 to do it.

What do you guys think? Should I have this done or try to find a used tank? I Googled for "RX7 gas tanks" and came up with several websites, but it doesn't look like anyone has a new aftermarket tank for RX7's. If I get a used one, I'm concerned that it may be crudded up also and I'd still have to have it done, plus the shipping on a used one may be prohibitive.

Let me know what you guys think, I'd appreciate it! Thanks!

Have the tank cleaned. While you are at it, make sure you change the inlet sock (should have come with the new pump) and change the fuel filter
