Question gas smellllll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

can any of u guys help me???
i have a 91 n/a no mods as of yet... just got it 2 months ago.. anyway i dont have much problems with it it has 113,000 miles i bought it was 105 and the only thats gone bad so far is the clutch master cylinder and it was quick and ez to replace.. but i have a lil problem .... i have this gas smell that likes to come out every once and while.. like one day and i didnt drive it for a day and then the next day... the gas smell came out and then it happened 2 other times already.... but it just happens while the car warms up ... after maybe 4 or 5 miles of driving it goes away completely... strange huh??????
the car runs solid so i dont think it could be leaky injectors?? and a gas leak would leak all the time?? and i would see the gauge drop quick right?? somebody heeeeeeeeeeeeelppp

problem #2
for some reason
my car idles perfect at 1100 rpm but i had it set to 1300 but when for some reason it drops to 800 or 900 rpm it gets shaky... the shifter shaked back and forth... and with the a/c on forget it!!!!!!!! i have to rev it up so it get get up to 1300 again i think its a vacuum leak because when i step on the brakes the idle goes down to 1100... can anybody please help me?? ive heard of stuck bac's? or vdi's?? wtf are those?? lmao helppppp

The gas smell is b/c most rotaries run rich. Mine does it (91 n/a as well), and all I have smelled do it. No biggie. Now as for the idle:It should idle at 750 RPM. 1300 is way too high. Also, check your TPS and idle mix screw. Do a search for both, or go to www.fc3s.org, look under "Manuals", and check out the 89-92 Factory Service Manual. Good luck!

Ok the TPS, is the dual black plunger on the front of the Throttle Body. The adjustment screw is the one that is attached to the arm that moves the TPS. Check out the fc3s.org place and the manual. It is pretty easy to do, but hard to explain! Here is a pic of the TPS. Good luck!
