Gas pedal gets stuck at WOT when help to the floor!!
How can IO fix this? A couple of times when I was getting into it I had to shut the car down in order to reach down, pull the gas pedal up with my hands then restart the car! What a PITA!! Any ideas??

ya adjust your throtle cables and check that your throtle return springs are on and correct also check to make sure your dashpot on the back of the throtle is adjusted correctly it sounds like the springs though

Could also be several other things, here's a list of some more things to check.
First inspect the pedal itself. Make sure nothing is stuck in its pivot points (carpet or other debris). Make sure nothing is bent or if the pedal spring is broken.
If that is ok, check the throttle cable. If your Throttle Cable got kinked, is corroded, or just badly gummed up, then its time to replace it.
If your throttle cable moves freely, then try to clean your linkage on the intake. Sand, mud, and age can cause them to gum up. If the springs on any of the linkage is corroded or broken, then you will have to replace them.
I had mine get stuck wide open about a year ago, it scared the crap out of me. It turned out that it was just some crud that got the linkage stuck. A little cleaning, and a lube did the trick.
Good luck

I had the same problem (link) .
But it turns out that the gas PEDAL (there's and aftermarket on on there with drilled holes, don't as me why, but i never had the originals) was PHYSICALLY getting caught behind the carpeting down there!
Like RETed said in the New Tach post, don't shift after 7,000 RPMs to:
1. Go faster
and
2. If it happens again, you can make a quick shift to prevent it from overreving
