I have run from California 91..our high octane.. down to 87 and I really don't notice any difference with my 1987 base.

For NA's in stock form at least

Factory recommendation is for regular unleaded. However, running a tank full of Premium once in awhile would be good as the extra detergents will give your injectors a bit of cleaning.

Basicly stock NA cars have been dyno tested many time with all the verios grades and in most cases there is more HP in using octanes of 89 or 87.

Modified cars or T2 models with the knock sensor however show increased HP using octane 91 or better (if available in your area).

Check the owners manual, it will tell you what grade to use, for turbo II ur supposed to use 91 octane for n/a's regular 87 octane should be fine.

Rx7s are supposed to run the lowest octane they can so 87 is what you are supposed to run Ive been messing with my timing so i am running 89 but thats only for timing reasons
