fuel system question

i'm currently upgrading the fuel system on my 86 turb. so i pulled off the UIM etc and noticed that the fuel reg is on the primary fuel rail, and yet everything i've read states that it should be on the secondary rail. so i was just hoping someone could clarify which rail it should be on and any adverse effects of it being on the primary rail? also will this affect the placement of my RRFPR? they're usually plumbed in between the secondary rail and the return line right?
any help would be much appreciated

All U.S.-spec FC turbos are like that.
It looks like the J-spec ones are opposite.
It's perfectly fine that yours is backwards.

Yes, just use the RRFPR the same way but between the primary rail and the return hose.
