Fuel pump voltage...simulate load?
I have done the fuel pump rewire and want to confirm it works 100%. The pump runs the car so I am sure that part works.
I know the pump voltage goes from 9volts to a higher voltage under load. I also know I can connect a voltmeter while I am driving and floor it and see what it does.
But, is there any way to simulate a load situation on the car while it is off?
How does the car know to give the fuel pump full voltage? TPS? Airflow meter? Presure sensor? When I jump the yellow connector does that give it full voltage?
Thanks
James

on the fd it switches over at 1 psi of boost, but ive never even seen anyone test an fc. it either works the same as the fd or it switches over at a set rpm. you can kinda half *** load test it if you turn the car one and turn every accessory on, lights, defroster, radio and see what it does.

Found it on teds site. He says that it is under full voltage when cranking and under boost. So I guess I could get a hand pump and plug it into the boost sensor and pump her up to like 8psi. That is the only sensor that tells the ecu what the boost is I believe.
IT would be sooo cool if the fsm told us what goes on inside that ECU

Online manual at www.fc3s.org. 89 manual. Page F2-74 and F2-75.
Things that influence the voltage: knock sensor, pressure sensor, tps(full range), o2 sensor, heat hazard sensor, milage sensor no.1 and no.2, back-up light and 5th switch, rear defroster sw, blower sw, head light sw, fog light sw, a/c sw, power steering pressure sw, test connector.

This should work. Get your engine hot. Turn the engine off. Wait a moment. Turn the engine back on. The voltage should read the full 12v for about a minute, then switch to approx nine volts and stay around nine volts.
