fuel pump relay tII

fuel pump relay tII
the fuel pump relay by the passenger strut tower (yellow plastic connector)
the tII fuel pump has two hi/lo setting either full 12v or 8 or something..
what does the fuel pump see when the fuel pump rely is jumped?
could this cause apex seal failure? driving and hitting full boost while the rely is jumped?

The fuel pump resistor relay, in front of the afm area, is the item that limits the voltage to the fuel pump. The green/red wire going to it comes from the ECU and puts a gnd on the relay when there is no load on the engine. When there is load, the ECU removes the gnd and full voltage goes to the pump.
If you have doubts about that relay (fuel pump resisor relay) working right , just put a meter on the large blue wire at the fuel pump connector and monitor it.
The yellow check connector has nothing to do with the difference in voltage output to the fuel pump.
Free downloads of the FSM and wiring for a series five are available from this site or ROTORWIKI.

The two socket, yellow in color, fuel pump check connector is there to pressurize the fuel rails with the engine OFF, to look for leaks. When you jumper it, it puts a ground on the circuit opening relay just like the afm does when the engine is running. Same wire to the circuit opening relay from the check connetor as the afm. They both do noting but put a gnd on one of the two coils in the circuit opening relay. Neither control/vary the voltage to the pump.
