I had purchased a Walbro rated at 255 high pressure for my 88 GXL a month ago, yet to be Installed . Am curious to know the same considering I am not putting any Fuel Pressure Regulator on. Will their be any performance gain when I put this on?

I dont think there will be a performance gain....but there is that potential, so that when you do start to modify the car you dont need to worry about the fuel pump.

If you plan on leaving everything else stock...there is no sense it doing it.

With a fuel pump that big you'll need something to contol all the added fuel ie) SAFC. No there really isnt a performance gain to be had with just the pump, I would hang onto it if you have plans to mod the car up in the future. With that said a stock T2 pump or FD pump would be more than sufficient for an n/a i would think.

I should have mentioned (engine output wise) I have:
- Fresh 20k re-built motor - not ported!
-machined cleaned Fuel Injectors
-K&N Filtercharger with cold air box
-RB Header
- Custom made S.S Brullen Catback w/ S.S High Flow cat
- Crane Cams Ignition Box
-E.F Black Magic #150

So with the above applied, will there be a difference when I install the Walbro? I'm speculating not. But Its a goog foundation to an upgraded Fuel Management System, If any.

What do you mean "**** rich". Won't the Fuel Pressure Regulator pinch off the excess fuel trying to come In?

Also, I don't see It running slower considering the Walbro Is rated at 255 UNDER HIGH PRESSURE! More pressure more faster.

I vote **** rich. A turboii pump won't make a bit of difference but the Walbro I *FEEL* will overcome the fuel pressure regulators ability to dump excess pressure back in the tank. I'm really all for you putting it in the car though. The time it takes isn't worth talking about and you will have actually done the job and can enlighten us as to what the results are. I don't see how you have a thing to lose by doing it since it can be reversed in a half hours time..Just note that I put 550's in my secondaries and managed to create a bogg at 5100 rpm and I'm running a dual RAcing BEat exaust from exaust ports to tail pipe. Go for it, then tell us what you think of it. Gonna be **** rich and slower. Prove us wrong.

Very well. I should be dynoing my FC with in the next 2 weeks. I will first put in the Walbro - dyno It. Than put the OEM - dyno It. Last Dyno I went to, Dynopower Services Ltd, up here in Toronto, didn't have a AIR/FUEL contoller that regulates, for example, at a given RPM when my fuel pump gives in.

Perhaps I'll go on the Canadian Forum and find out where I can have my car dynoed with this feature I am talking about.

I'll keep you posted!

So you are installing a big pump to make it work like the stock one? By the way it is not the pressure that matters it's the GPH... Big diffrence...

No it's not.&nbsp For EFI applications, pressure is more desireable.&nbsp You're 500gph 10psi carb fuel pump is not going to deliver a drop of fuel in an EFI system that needs about 30psi of fuel rail pressure.&nbsp Remember, there is an average of 20psi drop over the stock fuel system from the fuel pump outlet, so the pump needs to be able to flow at around 50psi at the fuel pump oulet to deliver any fuel in an EFI system.&nbsp I'd take pressure ANYDAY over flow.
