Fuel Pressure regulator Question...

I have a 87 TII and I think I have decided to upgrade the fuel pump to a FD pump. And add a fuel pressure regulator, is that needed for a FD fuel pump?

Also is a FPR like a mechanical fuel contoller? Or would you still need sometype of fuel controller, like a SAFC or AFR?

You really don't need one.

Yes, it's basically a mechanical fuel controller.

How do you know when you would need one?
