Question Is it a fuel issue or something bigger?

Okay to start off I have a 1991 Rx7 N/A and withing the past half a year it's been plagued with a couple electrical issues, thanks to the last owner. Anways when I first got the car which was about a year ago, it ran awesome. I only did wind it out a couple times and now that its running again It seems I have lost power and have a bit of a hesitation. Early on I had it to 210km/h before I backed off and getting to lets say 190 was no problem. Now however I notice in second a bit but mostly third, a hesitation, if you will after 6000rpm. Getting to 6000 is no problem and it pulls good but after that it really seems to crawl to seven and is a bit better getting to eight. I went to test it today and the fastest I could go was 175km/h adn it wouldn't go past 6200-6300rpm in 4th gear even slighlty downhill. Does anyone know what would cause this. I was running premium in it for a long time and I kinda found out on this site that I shoudn't so the past two days it's been 87 octane. Note* also at my 6200 in 4th gear it was like it was kinda shuddering a bit (don't know if thats the right word) but It acted like it would go no more. I know I have really good fuel pressure and the other day I even replaced the fuel filter and also did an oil change, so I am wondering what it could be, I've lost 35km/h! Sorry if this is long winded.

Make sure your 6PI actuators are working and that the VDI is working. Both need the airpump installed to be operable.

Question

Okay I figured out why I had the popping noise in my exhaust, timing but back to the question at hand. I checked those two solenoids, hailers and when you hooked it up to battery power the valve opened and the air went through the correct port, however when I blew threw the hose with no power (port a in manual) air didn't go through the filter. Note: I could hear the valve clicking when I did battery power test. This happened with both the 6pi and VDI soleniods. So my question now is..Is there a way to repair the old one and if not where can I buy a new one. thanks.

Note: Also as a mere question to satisfy my curiosity, my understanding is those two solenoids only open in the higher rpms, is this right? Thanks for help so far Hailers really appreciate it.

EDIT: I checked the two solenoids kinda close to the alternator, the one with the white plug in and brown plug in. It's my understanding these are the 6pi and vdi soleniods
