I have a haltech and I want to run 720cc injectors, do I still need a resister pack?

are 720cc injects really
72# injectos? but people just call them 720 ?

like 1600's are really 1680cc = 160#

and 72# are 756cc

so are they 720 or 756 ?

Parts yard prices:
Injectors are $20 each used.
Selenoid resistor $5-$10.

Just called this morning, and I don't even know the guy.

Vroomaster 08-23-02 12:20 PM

a local rx-7 repair shop
I don't think they ship or anything, but I will be going there tommorrow to pull the parts, so I get the details then.

On resistors -

Really, the easiest way is to get 10ohm, 10watt resistors from Radio Shack. My old roommate Jay has been running 4 720cc injectors with these resistors for well over a year now with ZERO problems. Not to mention they're like 2 for 99 cents or so. Wiring in the resistor block is one way to do it, but it's a lot more cumbersome. These resistors are heavy duty, and designed to dissipate quite a bit of heat. I just wired them in next to the injector when I cut the injector plug off to wire in the new plug.

Also, the total best way to do it is to run 720's all the way around - Jay found, with a wideband, the car runs VERY lean before the crossover, and at full boost/load at a higher gear, that's motor poppin' time.

ive got a freing that ran 720's all around and the idle sucked , i dont want a haltech or spend a zillion dollars

DaleClark 08-23-02 04:14 PM

With 720's all around you need a Super-AFC to tune 'em in - with them tuned right, the car will idle as well as or better than stock.

i really dont want to buy it now...maybe later
can i put the secondaries for now without the safc

DaleClark 08-23-02 04:28 PM

Yeah, you can run the secondaries with no Super-AFC, but you will bog/lose power at the top end.
