Is it advisable, to clamp off the fuel line, before removing from the filter, so that you don't get gas all over you? Anyone tried it?

I don't know about the fuel lines on an FC but on my FB (carburetor and low pressure fuel pump), I used vise grips on both ends of the lines to keep the gas from spilling.

I would try the above method first and relieve the fuel pressure. I don't even want to imagine the fuel coming out on an FC. On the FB, it was everywhere until I finally tightened down the vise grips some more.

I plan on depressurizing... but all the posts indicated that a lot of fuel still pours out. I am just wondering if clamping if off before removing the filter will cause any damage.
