Fuel Cutoff switch question

I have a switch that's from a set of Hella foglights, and I was wondering if I could use it for my fuel cutoff switch. It has a load, ground, and supply prong on it. i was wondering if I could connect the two wires for the cutoff to the load prong, a switched 12v to the supply swicth, and just ground it. Would it work this way? Im an electrical idiot..

Can you just run a vampire tap to one of the prongs, a ground, and a switched 12V for illumination?

First of all, keep it simple. You only need two contacts. You don't want to ground ANYTHING in the fuel pump's supply circuit. Secondly, make sure the switch is rated for at least 15 amps, and if after install she (the switch) gets warm, toss it and get a better one

Well, this switch has a ground due to illumination. Hense the switched 12V.. I was just wondering if I run both cut wires to one prong if it will cut it off..

What did I just tell you, lol???

Do you REALLY need a light to tell you when the switch is on? It shouldn't be in an obvious location anyway, which means you won't even SEE the light...Plus most of those lighted switches are made in China CRAP...

Going trial and error with a ground wire on a live circuit means you're adventurous, lol...

Have some spare 15A fuses handy

The ground has nothing to do with the fuel pump wire on this, but I'll let ya know how it goes after I figure out. I like doing things the hard way.
