Considering 1.75 euros = 2.27 dollars and there's 3.785 liters per gallon... you're a bit off.

Try ~$8.60/gallon

Ugh, I can't imagine paying 8.60. I can barely afford ~$2.00/gal.

Another thought....2nd gens are 15-20 years old at this point, and most have been owned by a number of people. Do you people really think that after 15-20 years, suddenly putting in "good" gas is going to make any difference at all?

Why not? The better gases don't just prevent deposits in the engine and fuel system, they clean them up. Sure, it won't fix anything major. But it won't dirty things even more, and it'll slowly clean things up. Kind of a waste if you're not going to have your car very long, though. And if you premix then a good premix will have a good amount of detergents anyway. Where I am the better brands of gas are only $0.01 to $0.02 more than the cheapo ones.

As I've heard higher octane gas doesn't burn off as easily as lower octane gas, besides costing more. Only reason to use high octane is if you have a car that requires it (not an N/A FC). I always use low octane gas from a good brand.
