FTP Alternatives?
The FTP gremlin stole my passenger side FTP lense. Well... actually I was driving on these terrible El Paso roads and I heard something fall off and crunch under my wheels. When I got to work I had one less FTP lense.
Anyways, I'm probably going to try to find a replacement one in the mean time but it got me thinking about doing other things with the FTP lense. I remember in the RX7 performance handbook there's a pic of a guy with a supercharged FC that has some sort of air intake where the passenger side FTP lense should be.
So far I've thought about making an air intake but I've also thought of buying two small oil coolers and fitting one on either side then tapping into the oil line.
While searching for this subject, I saw a pic of a guy with a blue turbo II with air intakes, but no word about whether they were functional.

pretty worthless to put tubing there. I don't have mine on because a good amount of air can get thru there. Oil coolers might not be a bad idea not sure if you can get decent sized coolers in there without loosing function of the pop ups.

ive seen cold air intakes on the headlight cover, but is seems like the FTP spot would be better, at least when the lights are up
perhaps if you just box off that part of the engine compartments and put a cone filter on youll get cold air to your intake

Hmmm... pretty good ideas. I found this on ebay:

I wonder if its dimensions would work on my car. I've never seen a honda motorcycle oil cooler up close, but it looks small enough Plus my car is red too, so I'd think would look cool. Tell me soon though, bidding is ending in 10 minutes! I might buy it just for the hell of it and test it out on my car.
