Take measuring tape and find out
Also think it says it in the FAQ
I believe their 4", maybe 4.25 not sure exactly I got replacement speakers and they were slightly too large so I drilled my own holes.

Depends on which model I believe, mine has larger than 6" speakers (Stock) I don't use the door speakers through the wires don't work and I was too lazy to put new ones in ^_^
Really odd that the stock wires would stop working after removing the old radio (No amps or nothin like that) I see the wires, if I connect them, nothin happens, nothing was cut haha.... ohh the oddities of rx7's

oddly enough, you still get a decent stage out of them. Nothing of the highest quality, but a lot better than I expected. Using a speaker with a swivel tweeter makes it even a tad better....aims it at your knees instead of into the floor, lol. But its really not as bad as I had thought.

I've also got a pair of 4" speakers. I may end up building little enclosures for the 5" mids behind seats, put the 4" mids under the dash. It sure would be nice to have a vert with the rear channels being used. I've got all Boston Pro components, mids and sub, it seems like such a waste to let them collect dust in storage.

there is a amp you need to bypass to get the door speakers to work.. my car came with aftermarket speakers and one day i looked and saw that the door speakers didnt work.... turns out it was the factory speaker amp thats located under teh glove box, just remove it, unplug it to bypass and should be good. Was a trip because it was like adding 2 more speakers since they where never used and i wasnt aware of it.

Im in the process of researching this stuff as well, so can i get some clarity? I was talking to my friend about putting a new headunit in and he was saying it wouldnt power all 6 speakers, so there IS a stock amp under the glovebox? and if you disconnect it an aftermarket head unit will power all six speakers?

The door speaker/woofer amp that is on some models is located behind the drivers dash speaker.
Some models will also have amps on each of the rear speakers at the rear speaker.
Some models will have a rear speaker amp bolted to bottom of the stock head unit assembly.
Some convertibles will have headrest speakers with an amp in the lower B pillar area just behind the drivers door.
The door speakers are woofers from the factory and do not provide any high or upper mid range frequency.
All of the factory amps except the passengers front use a low level input, but do not use standard grounding so often you will get a ground loop (two different ground paths) that will lead to engine noise. You are better off replacing/ or wiring past them if that is the case.
And your installer is an idiot if he can not figure out how to wire 6 speakers to a head unit that has only 4 outputs. You wire the door speakers to run off the same leads as the front dash speakers, while running the rear speakers off the rear channels.

Well pictures are kinda hard to get because I no longer have the car. But with the GXL i had with the top of the line audio available at the time I had to rewire the doors to work. So run the wires from the doors on both sides and connect them with the other speaker out put. Well i was using the pioneer AVIC-Z3 so i had enough speaker outputs. I wanted to put the vert seats in the car but I was worried about fitment issues, But I wanted them for the headrest speakers. Wich If I remember correctly i think those are 4in. So put some 5.25 in the dash and 6.5 all around. Subs were a little bit of a problem for me but I made a custom box that fit were those storage compartments went. 2 12 in premiers. and one mono block kicker amp. The car was loud and wanted to amp up all the 6.5 but I got rid of it. All you have to do to make those little plastic doors not rattle is go to menards or home depot and get some weather seal that is thick and your done!
Good luck with this.
