Unhappy Fried engine

Ok, I think my engine is F^&%$#. But I want to be sure. What happens when an Apex seal blows? Shouldn't my car smoke and not hold idle. Right now there is no smoke and it will hold idle. It just shakes the whole car. Taking off is weak too, like I'm running with half my normal power.

Any body know about how musch this potential excursion will cost. Also any good shops in the Tucker, GA area that anyone could recommend.

Sure sounds like a blown apex to me. If indeed it is, budget $2000 to fix it, even though you can probably do it for less.

Should I look into buying a new engine if it's going to cost me $2,000 to fix the seals?

I did mine for under $1,000. It just depends on how much damage the Apex seal did to the housings and rotors. If you lost an apex seal, your probably going to need a new rotor and rotor housing, get new apex seals (2 piece), new seals and all that good stuff. If you decide to buy an enging, get a jspec!!
