Found wrecked rx7 for 300, good deal?
Basically, the guy across the street had a 91 (I think) with fairly low milage and a good engine. Hes swapping in a V-8 and he said I could have the engine since I was interested in the s5 rotating assembly. A few weeks before he was going to do the switch, he totaled it. I finally located the car at a body shop and they said the engine ran when it came in, but the body was pretty trashed. He said he'd sell it for 300. Does that sound like a good deal? I figure I could sell the parts I don't use for that much, especially if the housings are good (we're talking 65-70k on them.)

Yeah, I just gotta come up with the money first. I took 6 months off to take care of my daughter and go to school while my wife was working, and now I can't find a damn job. I was planning on offering 300 if he delivers, 250 if I have to get it towed out.
The guy across the street now has an 88 that hes dropping the V-8 in. Hes gonna give me that engine too, if I want it. That engine isn't in quite as good shape, though. Still runs, but its higher milage. Also, the 91 is an auto, but the 88 is a manual so I'm gonna have some extra trannys.
Man, my rental company would have a cow if they saw the garage. lol

I went by and looked at it today. Basically, he hit a tree head on. The front is pretty messed up, but the farthest it reached was just barely touching the fan, so theres no damage to any of the major things in the eninge bay except the rad. I'm hoping to have it sometime next week.

I'm going to be starting a thread in the FS section on the parts available. It'll be most everything except the engine and the stuff damaged in the wreck. I'll post the link when I start the thread.

the tail lights alone are worth half of what you paid for it, plus a full nice *** black interior, S5 engine and tranny, perfectly good doors, some S5 molding, and rear bumper. definitely a good deal.

Ehh..
1 good S5 light = $75
Black interior = $100-200
S5 Aero mirrors = $50
S5 rear bumper = $75-100
Definitely well worth it. This is not including the S5 NA intake assembly, good engine bits, ECU, wiring harness, etc..
