Found something interesting after uim removal...

I just pulled my uim to replace my pd and I found something that puzzled me so I took a few pics and need some help indentifying the problem and what I can do to fix it. The picture should be obvious that that little pipe is clogged with strait up crap. btw its an 87 na s4 a/t with 55k

For one thing, there should be vacuum hoses on those nipples.

the uim and throttle body are off. had to take hoses off to pull it.

that's your thermo wax/fast idle. i'd get a used one cuz those nipples are fubared.

negatory. coolant hoses go there.

Since the picture is so close, I couldn't tell where it was. Good call though.

any idea why it is that I didn't reallize something was wrong before? How expensive is one of these used?

You could probably get one for free, people take it off all the time. Should only be a few dollars.

Exactly. I have dos. One i'm in the process of removing, the other is already off my spare manifold.
