Looking to buy some piping/have some made. What does your setup look like? Where did you get it? How big is it? What was the advantage over the stock TMIC? I have a 22x8.5x2.5 with 2.5inch openings, it is a 16 row..
This will finish up the 6 port turbo setup..
S5 Turbo
S5 T2 manifolds
Racing beat 2.5" DP
T2 injectors
T2 fuel pump
Lightweight flywheel
Custom Exhaust
Blockoffs
Dual ALt pulley
Custom Intake
HKS BOV
Custom up-pipe
Washable Intake filter
Stock ECU WOO HOO!!
I should be installing this stuff the first weekend of AUGUST. I took a 3 day weekend to complete the swap... Any pics \ tips would be great...

i just got my old school trust 3 row FMIC kit this weekend and my BOV just showed up today. my cooler is like 16 wide and 11ish tall and 4 inches thick. the piping is 2.25. after i get it all installed this weekend ill let you know.. the only really nice thing about this kit is very little cutting and it is hidden pretty good in the front.

I recently installed a ebay 20x9" core fmic, 2.5" ebay piping, Higgi's TB adapter. Total setup cost about $500. Had to relocate the battery, kept the power steering. My only problem is the couplers blowing off under boost. Im going to get the piping end's flared soon, hopefully that will fix the problem. Havent really been able to notice much of a difference yet, b/c of the coupler problem. I have noticed a 1-2 psi drop in boost pressure, because of the long piping runs and bigger ic

Haha, in that case... Got any pics of the core installed on your Turbo II 'hater?
I'm actually also in the market for an "ebay" IC setup, and I'm curious to know the different sized cores that people are getting. I'll probably be getting this piping kit, but I'm not sure what the best IC core would be, dimension-wise.
Kit I want to get:

One complaint with the Ebay piping kits is the lack of a 'bead', or 'flare' at the end/tips of each pipe. However, I heard you can just use a little JB-Weld?

heres mine, i dont have a bohemoth front mount like those others, just a small one that fits in the s5 bumper opening. piping is 2.5 inch made from ebay kit. picture is kind of blurry, and you can ignore my battery placement, it was extremely temporary.

I was curious about your TB elbow.....
Here's my progress...
Its a Godspeed FD core, the stainless 2.5" piping is custom.
The first pic is from underneath to show the angle on the I/C, the bellypan has been trimmed back to allow air in the rad from after and under the intercooler.
The inlets/outlets I cut off of the back of the I/C and tacked them in their req'd positions. Its been sent to my drag racing friend for a real proper weld job.

only problem I've got with that setup is that if you think flow was bad with your intercooler fins facing the oil cooler and radiator just wait till you see the air flow when it's pointed down and away from those components. I would definatley use the belly pan in your case and it may be ok.

i have no clue where i got the intercooler core on ebay, but the size is 2.5x9x20 (ish?) for the core and 2.5x9x24 with end tanks. it was only like 135 bucks. the pipe kit was called like 'MONSTER PIPING!!11' or something, came with nice bead rolled ends and the pipes were all super huge so i used less couplers. the battery is an odyssey PC80 or whatever its called. the fan shroud was missing but it didnt drive nearly anywhere like that, and now it has a twin e-fan setup.
edit: cant find the pipes OR the core on ebay...
is there a way i can check purchases from like months ago?
