No, at least not from what I use. Carb cleaner is more of a liquid/cleans **** really well, starting fluid is more of a gas/vapor (from what I've seen). I've used it many times to troubleshoot vac leaks and I've yet to see one ill side effect. Oh yeah, starting fluid is also a LOT more flammable, so I don't suggest it, (or at least, from my own experience! :-D )

Well... if the car still runs fine and idles fine, then you don't have a big huge leak anywhere....BUT
It COULD be that your BOV spring just went or something- and is opening up- letting off all boost.. but you'd still see a few PSI. Try blocking off the BOV, pinching the hose or whatever. (BUT DON'T LET OFF THE THROTTLE SUDDENLY!!)
I'm assuming your car has no power? A TII with no boost is a very slow car.
How does the car run/idle???
I hope there was nothing in the ic/piping that could have flown through the engine and smoked it, as well as the turbine.
Well.. I'd take off the DP and check out the turbine wheel...

The car does run and idle still. I guess checking for leaks with carb cleaner is alright then? What exact hose are you talking about BlackRx7? I checked all the hoses I could find, and all were still on. What do you mean after the turbo?

Yeah, checking with carb cleaner is fine. I don't see how the TurboXS bov can get stuck open unless something gets jammed in it, I guess you can start the car up and watch it and make sure it's not opening pre-maturely (unlikely)

Just out of curiousity, did you check to see if the hose to your boost gauge is still intact? If you popped the hose, all the pressure will escape, ya know?

I really doubt I hit fuel cut, I mean I boost above fuel cut all the time and have a fcd, unless somehow it just went bad while boostling like 10psi. And my wastegate is the stock S4 so even if it was stuck open I doubt I couldn't get any boost. Thanks for the help guys.

You blew a pipe off somewhere. It is very easy tio find boost leaks if you have an air compressor. Remove the turbo inlet duct and cap the turbo compressor, pump some air into the system and then you will hear where it is leaking.

Haven't we ALL heard this
Possibly it is not something visable. Like, you popped a hose at high boost and the engine should go to decleration. I am assuming you let of the gas real quick. Is it possible that the vacuum pulled the hose flush again? If so check all your clamps
Also, are you using worm drive type clamps on all hoses that see boost? Not the stock squeezy deals. But real clamps.
Also, those compressor blades are intresting. Can you snap a picture of the damage?

My vote is for a loose intercooler pipe. Did that on my talon after tranny #2. Forgot to tighten the upper intercooler pipe down and when I punched it, it was ok up to about 10-11# then I heard a loud POP. The car stumbled and started running really shitty. Popped the hood to find the intercooler pipe popped loose from the connector. Tightened it back on and presto...car was all better.

Alright I checked all the connections and redid them even to be sure. And I used carb cleaner to check for leaks. None. Also I noticed that the car is smoking quite heavily. It looks just gray. So I'm thinking my turbo is gone.
Levi, what time will you be online tomorrow? Or you can email me your number with directions to ludichris222@yahoo.com. Thanks.

Sorry dude that is what i would dudce as well, cause almost the exact same thing happned to me, but before you unbolt your turbo take off the dp and check the exhaust turbine and see if it is all chipped up and ****. if so then your turbo is most likely f#%ed.
I know it hurts happned to me. then the engine 180k later.
